We have been busy making so many memories lately and hopefully I can catch up on posting them to the blog soon! It’s funny how life with children can be. Ā Sometimes the biggest, epic adventures leave you wanting more while the little unexpected ones give you soul a much needed boost.

Monday started out like any other day except I had to keep up my end of aĀ bargain and drive south to Monkey Joe’s bounce houses. PS: Did I ever share what happened last time we went there?Ā Well, I could NOT find Jake anywhere and was looking in all of the bounce houses. Ā I glanced past the party room and thought ‘nah’. Ā But then on my second circle around I went up to the window and looked in. Ā Sure enough Jake was sitting at the table with 20 other kids, eating cake and celebrating Ariana’s 5th birthday party. Ā Which is cool except for the part where we do not know Ariana. Ā LOL. Ā I awkwardly popped in there and grabbed him. Ā He had no idea how funny the situation was. Ā I still laugh about it to this day! Ā Anyway… we spend a couple solid hours there and grabbed some lunch.

Then much to their dismay I said “let’s go to the Mall”. Ā First of all, I don’t know the last time I was in a mall. Ā It has to have been at least a year or quite possibly a year and half. Ā And I had not been in THIS specific mall in over 15 years. Ā Since, high school. Ā It’s funny how most stores were in the exact same place. And how time has make this one look smaller… not as grand as it seemed back when I brought my first paycheck there over half a lifetime ago. But somehow we spent 7 full hours there. Ā We became Mall rats.

I guess that is the purpose of this post. Ā LOL. Ā I wanted to share how much fun we had! Ā Both kids did the jumpy thing for the first time ever. Ā We roamed around a bit. Ā Both kids actually looked at stuff in stores. Ā Jake was so excited to order his own Sbarro pizza and push the tray down the counter. Ā We did the train twice and the carousel threeĀ times! Ā We pumped the claw game full of quarters. Ā (Dear whoever decided to put Beanie Boos in there. You clearly don’t have a 6 year old daughter). Ā Then we put more and more quarters in there until we FINALLY won one. Thank you Jesus.

Then I made the deal of the Century. Ā They got Build A Bears and I got a chair massage. Ā  Yep. Ā Basically I paid $75 for a chair massage and two stuffed animals. Ā But it was so worth it! I have a weakness for these mall massages. Ā I mean $12 for a little 15 minute slice of heaven. Ā Yes please. Ā When Abby was an infant I used to go to the mall often, walk her around until she fell asleep and then park her next to the chair while I got a massage. Ā Then she grew, one turned into two and I was sidelined for years. Ā Until now. Ā  They sat there. Ā Yep, in the waiting chairs. Ā And I got a massage. Ā I have reached the golden years of parenting.

Then we ate ChikFilA in the car and drove home. Ā So, that’s it. Ā We had a great day. Ā And in one of the last places that I expected!
