Prepare to be mindblown…

What if I told you that there is a website where you can book camping trips to super unique places inexpensively and anywhere in the USA?

Ok! I am going to do that!

That photo was taken last summer when we did our first trip to Oak Hollow Farm in Oak Glen, California. And today I want to share HIPCAMP with you because that is where I looked this fun trip! This is not a sponsored post but I will include my referral link so that you can save $10 off your first trip and then I get a credit on my account for referring you!

OUR VISIT: I heard about this farm from my friend Felicia at Everyday Adventure Family and I had to check it out. I booked a last minute opening for a Sunday night at Oak Hollow Farm and decided to adventure with just the kids. Matt wasn’t able to get off work and I actually wanted to visit the Lavender Festival that day and also take our time getting home the next day.

One thing that you will notice with HIPCAMP is that the accommodations very a lot. Some camps offer you a cabin complete with linens, some jut a place to pitch your own tent, others a yurt with a grill and some are even literally a hammock on the remote corner of a gorgeous piece of land. These camps are pieces of actual people’s property that they are welcoming you to visit. I have seems RVs and also tree houses too! You can search by structure to find something that fits your needs! Oak Hollow Farm is an actual working farm and we enjoyed getting to know Brenda (the owner) and learning about her animals. We even booked an a llama trek with her and got to walk the llamas along the beautiful foothills of the San Bernardino mountains. That experience with live with me forever!

When planning ahead we took note of what the campsite had to offer and saw that there is a firepit with chairs and a picnic table so planning our meals was easy. We just stopped at Sprouts on the way there and grabbed some premade sandwiches, supplies for hot dogs and smores, some juices and some snacks. What I loved about staying at this property is that we were in a cute little grassy area (near a treehouse swingset) and not far from the house. The farm is gated and I felt very safe. If you are new to camping I would suggest finding a place like this to start!

When we moved to Alabama I was worried that there wouldn’t be nearly as many cool experiences like this but I was wrong! I searched HIPCAMP and within 2 hours of me I can stay in a beach front Bungalow on Dog Island for only $100 a night, stay in the middle of a fig tree farm for only $10, stay near Lake Seminole, stay near a river with kayaks, visit a pig farm, sleep in a netted hanging bed at a living farm and literally tons more. And it’s not all rural. I have seem some amazing places in urban areas too! I was looking near Orlando and even found a tiny house that is to cute (search The Bermuda) that you can stay in for only $80.

I can not wait to explore more this Spring!
